This is a handsome antique Victorian jewellery ring box. The box has the name of the retailer printed on the silk lining inside the lid - Sir John Bennett Ltd 65 Cheapside, 105 Regent St. EC London W. The base is lined in cream velvet. The outside of the box is covered in taupe leather with gilt tooled detailing. The lid is hinged and snaps shut with a metal catch and push-button opener. The silk flap covering the hinge has parted from the base. The outside of the box is lightly scuffed, particularly on the underside. Otherwise it is in good condition, especially for its age. Measures approx 1.5" x 1.5" x 1.5".
